Our practice will take place in a quiet corner of Lumphini Park, right in the center of Bangkok. We will start the session with meditation and Pranayama (breathing exercises), moving on to asana flows. During the retreat, we will be performing healing and strengthening exercises. Thanks to the small size of the class, the class can be tailored to individual needs and skills. Yogis of all levels are welcome to join! (The time of the yoga practice is approximately 90 minutes) Yoga helps you learn about your body, how to fix posture, balance and pains, while making you stronger. You will be picked up by a comfortable modern vehicle. We will travel in a small group for 25 minutes to the location . Once kitted up with headlights and red night torches we will begin a 2 km walk through the darkness of a native New Zealand forest. Along the way we will encounter towering trees and cascading waterfalls, giant silver ferns lighting up like fire works . The highlight would have to be the glowworms as breath taking as our clearest night sky. You will be able to get up close and fully understand this amazing creature. No two nights are ever the same. On arrival, we'll create our own handmade paper from the raw ingredients, which will be turned into four postcards. Designing the paper with pressed flowers and leaves is the most fun process. While drying the paper, we'll watch a short movie about how Japanese paper is made, enjoy chatting over drinks. When the paper is dried, I'll show you how to use a traditional brush pen to write messages on the cards in Japanese. At the end, I 'll be able to guide you on how to mail your unique cards to your friends or family. This two-hour workshop is designed for beginners. We will take a brief look at the history of Najeon Chilgi—the Korean wooden lacquerware inlaid with mother-of-pearl. Made from the shining, unchangeable beauty of pearl oyster or abalone, mother-of-pearl is smooth, iridescent, and is considered to be the jewel of the orient. The traditional Najeon Chilgi technique is complicated and takes a long time. During this workshop, we will use a technique that cuts the mother of pearl and we'll stick in these pieces to decorate a wooden tray or a plate, coasters like a little mosaic. I will also have prepared the pre-cut pieces of shell, which will be easy to stick. All materials and tools will be provided and you will be offered a choice of different designs. Of course, you can also bring an image if you have one in your mind. First you will learn about basic ingredients, materials and tools for making wagashi using visual chart, and I will demonstrate the basic skills step by step for you to follow and do the same way by modelling, moulding, and shaping your own Japanese sweet. You can learn not only the basic skills of making, but also the beauty of Japanese traditional colours used and how I express seasons in the design of the "sweets". Don't worry, you can take your time at your own pace, and focus on getting inspiration and enjoying the making! When some difficult techniques needed, of course I will help you.　:-)　 Also, you can ask me to take photos of your making as you have to keep your hands clean! Making will be about 40 minutes, and when finished, you will have a matcha tea time to taste your own wagashi. We can pack the remaining wagashi to go,of course! However, learning about Japanese tea ceremony means much more than just learning to make matcha. Let's find the concept and philosophy behind this performing art. At first, you will learn the basic concepts and ideas of tea ceremony. You will also learn how to behave in a tea room and appreciate its decoration. Next, you'll watch a demonstration of "the way of tea". We think you will enjoy the quiet and serene atmosphere. And now let's make your own tea! We will tell you how to drink it, and also serve you a specially selected Japanese cake. Come, step into the world of profound spirituality and set your soul free, and let's have fun together!!
